Sell Your Music Downloads Online

While streaming services like Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music & Pandora may help introduce your music to fans, they do not guarantee that you can sell your music downloads online successfully. Just take a look at this photo below from an American Singer/Songwriter who helped write the hit “You’re gonna miss this” and had his music played on Pandora more than 11 million times…

Sell Music Downloads Online

It’s very important as a Music Artist these days that you focus on building your brand and learning the best strategies to sell your music downloads online. Digital distribution services like TuneCore, Reverbnation and the CD Baby marketplace will host your music for a fee and get you in the public arena by placing you on iTunes, Amazon, etc – but again, this does not guarantee sales! Keep in mind, your songs might be on these services, but how are listeners/new fans suppose to find you? Your competition is with the majors and sadly most of the majors have stock in all of the streaming services available. How do you think Spotify, Tidal & Apple Music (iTunes) can offer users unlimited access to artists signed by a label? Unfortunately, the labels have come around to the new digital age and now have their grimy fingers in the loop holes of the music streaming industry. For us little guys, the dinosaurs have come around to the new technology and starting to rebuild their capital through investing in streaming services & new music startups. The more they own, the more control they have. So how do you successfully build your brand and fanbase with these barriers in place? You put your nose to the grindstone and work smarter, not harder.

The bottom line is you need to make money and touring isn’t the be-all-end-all. There’s many different ways to monetize your art and build a career doing what you love to do, but again, the objective here is to not rely on one specific source to provide your entire income stream. As a professional you need to have a great website & the opportunity to sell your music downloads online directly to fans. Wix.com is a great option for your website needs. It’s simple, easy and to the point. Another viable option is Bandzoogle.com. This specific website service caters towards musicians/bands and has a very simple interface to drag & drop content and make a lot happen in a few minutes.

To sell your music downloads online, visit TunePort.com. While there is a lot of competition in this arena, TunePort provides musicians, bands, DJ’s & beat-makers & all other audio content creators with the opportunity to sell music downloads online directly from their website or blog. Rather than rely on another digital distribution platform to sell your music downloads online, you can easily access a TunePort audio store for only $29.00 one-time fee! Any other service which offers the opportunity to sell your music downloads online has a minimum fee of $10-$12/mo & goes up from there. Affordable & very tech savvy, the TunePort Audio store is everything you need to sell your music downloads online and start building a career for yourself. Their music selling options range from licensing, free mp3 tracks (This is a really cool thing to offer new fans of your music and get them on board) royalty-free, non-exclusive & exclusive (for producers, beat-makers) and if you have extremely large audio files like .WAV or .AIF, you can upload a Zip Folder to your store with all the bells & whistles and custom price for your fans! Once you’ve placed your Audio Store on your website, make sure you have an easy and convenient way of capturing your fan’s email/s so you can follow up and build this relationship.

Build your brand through your website and sell your music downloads online by purchasing the TunePort Audio store. From here, offer fans new free tracks in exchange for their email. Follow up with them with your newsletter, continue to offer incentives and keep them engaged. Mailchimp.com is phenomenal at providing you with easy-to-use templates/professional designs that will engage your fans and help build your base at home and abroad. Most importantly, make sure your music is easy to find on your website. Fans do not want to search to buy your music. Give your fans immediacy, by embedding your music store on the home-page of your website and selling your music downloads online. By following these 3 simple steps, you are on your way to becoming very successful as an Independent Music Artist living in 2016. Build your career one song and one fan at a time and you will find a long list of subscribers who will continue to come back and support you every time you have a new material and looking to sell your music downloads online.

Sell Songs From My Website

Sell Songs From My Website

If you’re asking yourself how do I sell songs from my website, you’ve come to the right spot. While there are many third party sites that promise to sell your songs to the masses, the best way to build your brand and fan-base is by selling songs directly from your website. While WordPress does offer a few plugins that will help you do this, many lack the very simple option to buy your music directly from your website and stay connected to your fans. Even sites like SoundCloud, which have an array of cool resources to help connect you with fans online, lack the buyer-friendly interface necessary to sell mp3 files directly from your website. Their store is great, but I don’t want fans to just listen to my tracks, I want them to have the option to buy my music. This is a business and as a serious singer-songwriter, I want to sell songs from my website, continue to build my loyal fan network & hopefully reach enough of an audience where I can repeat these same methods when I release my new album.

After much research, I found TunePort to be the ideal solution on helping me sell songs from my website. TunePort provides a very stylish looking audio store that fits the theme of my website perfectly! When my fans come to my home-page, they do not have to search for my music. My simple reasoning behind this is: When I want to hear a new song from a band I like, I want to it NOW! So, it’s extremely frustrating to me when I have to search for an artists’ music on their website. My opinion is, my music should be the star of my website, not a passenger in the back-seat awaiting his time to speak-up. I want my voice to be loud & clear. My Music is my brand & TunePort gets this. In a matter of minutes, I was able to upload my tracks, custom price them, add a few licenses (Since I do sell my tracks on YouTube and have licensing options for these particular instrumentals) and be ready to sell on my website immediately. Any time a fan purchases my track/s, I will receive an email to follow up with them and get them on my newsletter, I also have the option to give away my songs for Free which is an awesome incentive for my new and old fans!

Furthermore, it’s so easy to sell song from my website. TunePort does all the heavy-lifting. Just a quick example of this. As a singer-songwriter, I have always been less genre specific, in other words, while many of my songs are Rock/Pop, I have a slew of others that are Acoustic, Hip-Hop, Orchestral, Film-Noir, etc. I don’t like to pigeon-hole myself into one specific category, which is why I like the freedom of choices TunePort offers to me as an Artist. I can easily upload all my tracks and not worry about my fan/s – music supervisors, not finding the specific genre/mood they are looking for. My audio store has a built-in Search Bar that’s Genre/Mood Specific, making it very easy for my customers to buy the track/s they want immediately without scrolling through my entire store. As I mentioned earlier, I’m a huge fan of how easy TunePort makes things when it comes to how to sell songs from my website.

Finally, I’m a very busy guy so it’s nice to know, I can login directly from my store on my website without going through the ordeal of signing in on TunePort’s home-page. This truly makes me feel like I’m in complete control of my store. I don’t have to deal with a third party site and logging into my profile page, it’s very simple – I login with my Email & Password directly from my store on my website and I will instantly arrive at my control panel, where I can add new songs, delete older tracks, add voice-tags, licenses, etc. That’s brilliant and why I choose TunePort as the ideal service at helping me sell songs from my website & building my brand as a professional singer-songwriter.

Sell Your Music Online & Make It Happen!

Sell Your Music Online

Sell Your Music Online Directly To Fans From Your Own Website!

There’s a variety of options to choose from when deciding how to sell your music online. Let’s take a look at a few:
CDBaby.com: CD Bay provides Independent Music Artists with a music marketplace & offers its members the opportunity to sell their songs on iTunes & Amazon around the world. Founded by Derek Sivers, CDBaby has been at the fore-front of developing new and improved techniques to help Independent Music Artists sell their songs online and making a living as successful Independent Musicians. They also provide a service called HostBaby.com, which provides Indie Artists with their own template and offers a few resources/tools to help sell your music online. As someone who jumped onto CD Baby in the early days, back when they had a credit-card swiper and guaranteed storage for my music, I was a fan of how they operated. However, while CD Baby might provide you with a few opportunities to get your music online, it’s very hard to be found in their giant data-base of artists. Unless someone specifically searches your name, your music is not likely to be seen by new fans/customers. While they do provide a search by genre & “Sounds Like” tools, again, it’s very difficult to be found in their system. While you can depend on other 3rd party sites to help you sell your music, the ideal way to sell your music online is by building your own website.

Your website = Your Brand. We highly suggest working with Wix.com or Worpress.com. Both provide a very easy, simple interface to build your brand & sell your music online to new fans instantly! These days, there is no excuse when it comes to not having a professional, aesthetic website for your fans to click on and view pics, stories, new gigs & have the opportunity to buy your music. TunePort.com provides Independent Musicians, Bands & Beatmakers with the essential tools required to sell your music online & build your fanbase. Once you signup with TunePort, you will receive your own Audio Store equipped with social network buttons, fan/music supervisor search bar (genre & mood) & a plethora of custom selling options designated for you to sell your music online the way you want to do it. You can read more about ALL the features of the TunePort Audio Store here.

My Band Aversion

So I wanted to write this, because my band just finished recording their album and I was looking at where I need to go to sell music on my website. Most of my friends use CDBaby to help sell music on their websites, but I’m not a huge fan because I want to figure out how to sell music on my website and not a third party. I also looked at iTunes, but again, I know if we sell our music on that platform it’s hard to make many sales since we’re competing with all the big guys: Aka: Major Record Labels. My Band’s Name is “Aversion” and while we’re not really out there, we got some great tracks and have a lot of passion when it comes to keeping our fans happy.

I’d say our main thing right now is touring live and we have some really cool fans. Our music is Pop/Rock and we have a kick ass live show, but I’ll be honest, we’re not the best at selling our songs online. Some buddies of mine referred me to wordpress, and I am currently working on building my band’s website from one of their templates, but I’m still searching for a cool way to sell music on my website. I stumbled across TunePort  searching for how to sell my music online and I think these guys might be what we need. I mean, we’re not a big band and honestly, this looks like a cool store that will help me sell music on my website. I noticed on their demo page, they offer an opportunity to sell my bands’ mp3’s, but also license our films for TV/FILM and give our stuff away for free. The free idea is awesome. I like that they give my band the option to do this because really we’re about just getting our music out there. I figure if our fans like what they hear, they’ll support us in the end. Giving away a few free songs to loyal fans is a good idea in my humble opinion. Then again, I”m not a marketing guy. I wish we had a manager or someone who do this for us, but I know this stuff takes time. I really like just being on the mic & writing the songs, which is why I’m writing this blog. Hah. I’ve always been a fan of the written word, so maybe you guys can reach out to me and tell me what you think of TunePort and if this is a good place to be to sell music on my website?

I haven’t even finished building my website yet, but once I do, I’m definitely going to give them a try. I like that they have a number I can ring, if I have questions. Has anyone else out there used TunePort to sell their music on their website? I’d love some feedback. Any way, for what my band and I are doing now, it looks like the perfect solution to sell music on my website and gives us a cool look. I’m terrible at graphic design, so I like that. Any way, I got band practice in an hour, so I’m heading out. Hopefully you guys can lend some feedback on how to sell your songs on your website and if you’re reading this, I say, try out TunePort.com. From the other sites I was looking at, they’re cheap: 29 bucks and you own the store, no monthly payments! I know most of the other sites offer their stuff at $10/mo, so to get everything I need for this cheap, it’s kind of a no-brainer. I mean, we’re an independent band, our budget is slim to none.

Sell Songs On My Website

sell songs on my website

How do I sell songs on my website? I’ve been asking myself this question for sometime now. While I know I can get my music up on TuneCore, RecordUnion, Reverbnation, SoundCloud and a slew of other sites, the real question is how do I sell songs on my website? I’ve looked at a number of sources online and TunePort.com is the ideal opportunity for me to sell songs on my website and build my fanbase. Here’s why:

TunePort provides me with everything I need to sell songs on my website, specifically my RoyaltyFree Tracks. While I’m a singer-songwriter, I moved into the realm of selling my music royalty-free because I can reach a huge demographic of customers on YouTube who are interested in placing my music in their videos and I can charge a lot more for a license than I can selling my song for $1.00 on iTunes. I found TunePort, through a good friend of mine on Audiotheme who I love! I used Audiotheme to set up my WordPress website because they provided me with a very professional template which is key these days in making sales. As the saying goes in any job interview, “dress to impress” and I look at my website as exactly that: A place where my potential customers are interviewing me for their specific music job/s. I need to look good and present a professional image to my customers & TunePort gives me that look, along with an extremely user-friendly interface.

As someone who used to work as an intern for Universal Music Group and helped my colleagues find the perfect track/s for 5 seconds of footage,  I understand the importance of dead-lines and how frustrating it is for music supervisors to not be able to find the songs they need quickly. Seriously, sometimes these guys have a 2 hour window & will pay you a ton if it’s exactly what they are looking for, BUT you need to have all your chickens in a row when they come calling. Many times they hear great stuff from bands, but they don’t want to have to hunt down who owns the master, etc. Bands work with many members, which means, more paperwork. As someone who writes royalty-free music, I own my own masters & TunePort provides me with the perfect tool to reach Supervisors and License my music directly to them in seconds!

Working with TunePort gives my customers the opportunity to search quickly for the track/s they want. I keep my genres and moods very simple. “Acoustic” “Rock” “Kids/Family” & I always enter the “mood” for the tracks they are looking for, “happy” “emotional” “uplifting” and “positive.” Furthermore, I price my tracks at $6-$7, my one-time Licensing Fee which is applied to the Zip Folder my customers download in their TunePort Audio Store after the purchase of my track. This makes things so much easier to help sell songs on my website and receive a plethora of loyal customers coming back repeatedly to buy more tracks. You see, with a license, I can continue to offer this track a multitude of times and have the opportunity to upsell if my client is looking for a set-bulk of tracks they like. Many times, I have one client that is ready to buy 1 or 2 songs, but I will offer a bulk-deal for 10 tracks. I like this because my client/customer is receiving a great deal & when I do this I have about an 85% ROI. Happy customers return & more often than not, I get great word-of mouth!

There’s an incredible amount of warm word-of-mouth that happens in the YouTube arena. I personally feel like YouTube Customers are much more tech savvy & more entrepreneurial minded. There’s a real circle of trust between myself and my YouTube customers and I take the buying experience very seriously. That’s why I use TunePort to sell songs on my website. I have had little, to no problems with these guys and they are constantly there for me if/when new bugs do arise. I highly recommend them if you are royalty-free music artist like myself who is asking themselves the same question I had: Where do I go to sell songs on my website?
